It helps to detect cavities between the teeth which may otherwise go unnoticed. The digital X-ray image can be viewed instantly on the computer screen in a large format.
We also use CBCT or Cone Beam Scan to take a 3-D image of your teeth, bones, soft tissues, and nerve pathways. This helps us to diagnose any pathology and plan the placement of implants. These images also help us pinpoint the exact location of wisdom teeth. We use this technique for cephalometric analysis during orthodontic treatment as well.
