Bleaching – Zoom!TM Teeth
Whitening system brightens teeth that have been stained or darkened by food, tobacco use, age or injury.
This unique system provides patients with
customized impression trays, whitening powder and syringes of whitening gel to improve the appearance of the
teeth in just a few days. This eliminates the need for multiple visits to the dentist and allows patients to
whiten their teeth at their own convenience.
CEREC (Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics)
is a multi-instrument system that allows dentists to create and implant custom-fit ceramic restorations in a
single appointment. The system consists of an infrared digital camera, a computer with 3-D imaging software,
and a milling unit with diamond blades for quick, precise and highly detailed construction of restorations.
The CEREC system can produce any permanent, single-tooth ceramic restoration, including crowns, onlays,
veneers and fillings. Restorations are fully designed and fabricated by the dentist, allowing for complete
control over the look and fit of the material, as opposed to creation in a lab by someone who has never
even seen the actual patient.

A dental extraction, commonly known as getting a tooth pulled, is one of the most common procedures
performed at a dentist's office. While your dentist will first make efforts to treat your condition and save
the tooth, this is not always possible. Dental extractions are often performed to relieve a broken tooth,
significant tooth decay or to remove wisdom teeth that cause overcrowding in the mouth.
After the extraction, patients will likely experience a certain amount of pain, but usually feel completely
better within one to two weeks. The dental extraction procedure is safe for most patients and does not involve
any major complications.
Dental crowns are used to strengthen and improve the shape, size or color of teeth. They can support broken
or weak teeth or those with large fillings; provide a smooth, strong, attractively contoured surface for
stained, misshapen or otherwise abnormal teeth; and aid in the implantation of bridges and other implants.

Dental bridges are natural-looking tooth replacements which help maintain facial structure, reduce stress
on the jaw and fill in the gaps caused by missing teeth. Fixed bridges are cemented to the existing teeth and do
not come out. Removable bridges can be taken out and cleaned at home.
Dental bonding can improve the appearance of chipped, broken, cracked and stained teeth and fill in spaces
between teeth. Dentists apply a thin layer of tooth-colored composite resin to the teeth to restore chips and
cracks, fill in gaps or cover stains, and provide patients with a more attractive and functional smile.
Digital imaging uses an x-ray machine like that used for dental radiographs made with film. But instead
of film in a plastic holder, digital images are make using a small electronic sensor or image receptor that is
placed in you mouth to capture the x-ray image.
Unlike conventional x-ray film that may take between three and five minutes to process, a digital x-ray image
can be viewed quickly on the computer screen. The image is displayed in a large format on a computer screen
rather than the small x-ray film that is viewed on a light box.
- Specific problem areas of a tooth can be enhanced with magnification as well as brightness and contrast
alterations. Viewing an enhanced x-ray image on a computer screen can help. Patients can more easily
understand a dental problem or condition and discuss options for treatment.
- Digital x-rays are stored on a computer and can be printed, emailed, copied, or sent to other dental offices
that may need an image of a particular tooth. X-rays can easily be compared to a future x-ray image to see if
and how conditions have changed.
- Digital x-rays are environmentally friendly. They eliminate the need for film and film processing chemicals
that generate biohazardous waste. Special light boxes to view the traditional x-ray films are no longer needed.
Nitrous oxide (N2O2), otherwise known as laughing gas, is a sweet-smelling gas administered through
a mask that fits snugly over your nose. We deter cross-contamination and maintain sanitary conditions.
Nitrous oxide is also called conscious sedation because it causes intense relaxation, but patients can
continue to communicate with the doctor. Nitrous oxide is quick to act, and the effects subside quickly
so you can return to normal daily activities following treatment. The use of nitrous oxide decreases
sensitivity to pain and it can be combined with local anesthetic, an injection that creates numbness
at the site of treatment. Nitrous oxide can be administered before an injection.
Nitrous oxide is safe
for adults or children. More than eighty percent of pediatric dentists use nitrous oxide. However,
it should not be used on a pregnant mother or a child who is too young to communicate effectively.
Nitrous oxide is a great option for adults who feel anxious about dental procedures. Recovery is rapid,
and you can drive yourself home.
Dental implants are artificial tooth roots that are surgically anchored to the jaw
to hold a replacement tooth or bridge in place.

canal is reshaped and fi lled with gutta percha, a rubber-like material, to prevent
recontamination of the tooth. The tooth is then permanently sealed.

Periodontal Disease is a chronic bacterial infection that affects the gums and bone
supporting the teeth. Periodontal disease can affect one tooth or many teeth.
It begins when the bacteria in plaque (the sticky, colorless film that constantly
forms on your teeth) causes the gums to become inflamed. Gingivitis is the mildest
form of the disease. In this stage, the gums redden, swell, and bleed easily.
There is usually little or no discomfort.

Dentures A denture is a removable replacement for missing teeth and the tissues connected
to those teeth. It is made of acrylic plastic and sometimes porcelain and metal
materials. A denture closely resembles natural gum tissue and teeth. Complete
dentures replace all of the teeth, while partial dentures fill in the spaces created
by missing teeth and prevent other teeth from shifting position.

Children's Oral Health Taking your child to the dentist at an early
age is the best way to prevent oral health problems. A trip to the dentist also can educate
you on how to properly care for your child’s teeth and to identify
his or her dental needs. Early visits will help to familiarize your
child with the dental office, too, which helps to reduce anxiety
and fear, and make visits more stress-free in the future.
